Preparation...“By failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail.”

On Jan 14th 2016 the first bikes arrived at Bikers Warehouse and the team set about their business of transforming the Huski 701 into a bike capable of getting us across Africa. Off the shelf, the 701 is ideally suited for the touring off road terrain as it is effectively described as a plastic bike and is at least 50Kg lighter than anything else in the class - only 155kg with accessories added!

Off the shelf, the 701 is ideally suited for the touring off road terrain as it is effectively described as a plastic bike and is at least 50Kg lighter than anything else in the class - only 155kg with accessories added!  Many models in the class have also been stopped for emission and homoligation reasons, leaving only large 800 to 1200cc touring machines in the market - all definitely not off road capable.

A fully kitted 701 is very capable machine on good normal roads at speeds up to 180kph. Off road’ it rides like any lightweight enduro bike one would use to race off road events as the handling is fantastic. The standard bike features these key points…

  • ABS brakes
  • 14.5L fuel -  with electronic fuel injection and mapping.
  • 21” and 18” wheels – DID rims and spokes
  • White power suspension featuring the full race front CS-4 forks.
  • Linkage rear suspension.
  • 78 bhp performance motor

The Adventure - after market parts added by Bikers Warehouse are listed below…

  • Long Range Left and Right Ally fuel tanks @ 5 litres per side – additional 10Litres and independent fuel taps added for each tank.
  • Wind Screen, long range LED spot lights and Mount brackets to fit onto the Pro Bend CRM hand guards.
  • Rear soft luggage carrier assembly.
  • Under engine sump protection
  • Steering dampers
  • Custom Graphics kit
  • Karoo-3 enduro tires 50-50 with Thick enduro tubes fitted with liquid slim added.
  • Garmin Origon 600 finger Touch GPS
